We are searching for a Nurse Practitioner for our non-invasive Cardiology Services Center in the Southeast Medical Center.
This is a new position within Cardiology and will work very closely with our Non-Invasive Cardiologist. This NP will be instrumental in helping alunch new cardiology programs and in expanding our business.

| Duties: | The Nurse Practitioner position is a full-time / 36 scheduled hour work week.
- Assess the cardiac health status of individuals by obtaining health and medical histories
- Perform physical examinations, diagnose health problems
- Manage patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular diseases
- Prescribe medication and treatment regimens according to approved guidelines.
Using standards of practice acceptable for our patient populations, the nurse practitioner will:
- provide assessment, diagnosis, evaluation, education, and treatment.
- educate patients and families about procedures, diagnosis, prognosis and goals of care, and collaborate with the cardiologists and entire healthcare team within Compass Medical in order to achieve optimum outcomes for our patients.
The nurse practitioner must be knowledgeable in all aspects of cardiac stress testing and assist in developing and managing:
- Cardiovascular Health Maintenance Programs (diets, exercise programs, etc.)
- Shared Medical Appointments (new model program for cardiology patients that may require some evenings)
This is 100% out-patient cardiology / non-invasive.
This is a Cardiology NP position that will also include Program Development responsibilities. Some business skills very helpful to help secure funding for the Program Development projects. |
| Qualifications: | - MUST HAVE CURRENT MASS NP LICENSE.
- A health conscience applicant that has a strong understanding of diets & exercise
- experience stress testing
- an experienced RN within Cardiology is critical
- prior NP experience & RN experience within cardiology required (non-invasive cardiology preferred)
- excellent communication skills to lead 'Shared medical Appointments' of up to 20 patients
- knowlege of diets, food and nutrition
- knowlege of exercise programs a serious plus / aerobics or cardiovascular training knowlege preferred
